McFarlane Toys - DC Multiverse: Batman Action Figure!
McFarlane Toys new line of DC Multiverse action figures are on toy shelves now and I got my hands on the Detective Comics #1000 Batman. I was skeptical of this figure at first, because the promotional photos of it looked like it was a Toy Story version of a Batman toy. (At least to me.) Once I got the newest Dark Knight out of his giant wasted space packaging I was extremely surprised by the figure.
The detail seemed basic for a figure that's supposed to be based on Jim Lee's art for the cover of Detective Comics #1000, but the 22 points of articulation more than makes up for it. I actually do like the design and detail to the figure now that I've had it for a week. Batman is very sleek and does have some nice detail that can only be appreciated once the toy is in hand.
Batman comes with a Grapnel Gun and Batarang accessories. The Gun has a non-removable cable with a bat-shaped grapnel. There's also a display stand and a trading card with the image of Detective Comics #1000. I haven't always been a fan of molded rubber capes on action figures, but this version is by far the best I've seen. It has a molded flow to it that makes it great for action poses.
Overall I really like this figure and have found it hard to put down. I love seeing what poses I can get him in while just sitting at my desk. I look forward to picking up other figures in this first wave of DC Multiverse toys by McFarlane Toys and seeing what's coming in the future. Check out some photos of this Batman figure below.
