2024 DFW G.I. Joe and Action Figure Show

Vintage and Customs and Valaverse, oh my!

After a few years of being apart The Near Mint Fanboys finally got together to attend the 2024 DFW G.I. Joe and Action Figure Show in Grapevine, Tx this past weekend! If you've listened to the podcast or followed us on social media you know we love G.I. Joe so attending this show celebrating 60 years of everyone's favorite toy soldiers was a must!

It was a very packed show with tons of amazing vendors and special guests. Highlights for us were attending the Valaverse panel, where we got to see what they've got planned including a new vehicle, and meeting G.I. Joe comics legend Larry Hama.

Check out our photos from the con floor below!

Bryan’s entries in the Custom Action Figure and Custom Diorama Contests. He made an awesome custom Heavy Duty and Devilfish!

Pics from the Valaverse booth! It was by far the most popular spot of the con. Bryan and I snagged five Bone Collector action figures between us. None of them were the limited edition Blood Splatter variant, but we did meet Mr. Valaverse himself, Bobby Vala.

If you attended the show let us know what you thought in the comments…and knowing is half the battle!

Fan Expo Dallas Photos | April 2018

Fan Expo Dallas NMFB001.jpg

Fan Expo Dallas was this past weekend from April 6-8. It was an uncommonly cold Spring weekend, in the DFW area, but it did not stop hordes of geeks from storming the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center! This year's Expo seemed like the biggest yet with more celebrities, cosplayers, vendors, and events.  Below are some photos I took while walking the floor.

Ben Affleck was a last minute addition to the convention and appeared on Saturday only. I was excited to be able to get a photo op with him! I also purchased the Fan Expo exclusive Justice League Batman Statue, by Icon Heroes, that I will do a full post about later this week.

Another highlight of this year's Fan Expo was meeting Cosplay Icon Jessica Nigri. She was extremely friendly and personable.  It's well worth the long lines to meet her and I recommend doing so if she's at a convention near you!
