G.I. Joe Classified Deluxe Snake Eyes by Hasbro

Snake Eyes Classified003.jpg

“Pork Chop Sandwiches!”   Hasbro has brought back everyone’s favorite Greatest American Heroes for 2020 with G.I. Joe Classified!   This is the first time G.I. Joe action figures have been released in 6-inch scale.  The first figure available to purchase, through pre-order, was Snake Eyes on the Hasbro Pulse website as a Deluxe Version.  I was lucky enough to snag one before they sold out online.

The Deluxe Snake Eyes figure arrives in a collectors box with some embossed artwork of a wolf and dragon heads covered in a slipcase with the same design. Inside the box is Snake Eyes in the standard G.I. Joe Classified window box which is encased in foam.  Also included in the collectors box is an exclusive Arashiakge Ninja Clan weapons rack with 9 additional weapons.  There’s also a collectible print of the Deluxe Box suitable for framing in your toy dojo.

Snake Eyes V2 1985

Snake Eyes V2 1985

The figure itself is highly articulated with great attention to detail.  (A benefit of the 1:12 scale)  These 6-inch G.I. Joe figures will fit right in with Hasbro’s Marvel Legends line.  This Snake Eyes appears to be more inspired by his 1985 V2 incarnation rather than the 1982 V1 version that Hasbro Pulse lists as the inspiration for the design.  Many online reviews weren’t  happy with the design of this Snake Eyes, but I was definitely pleased with it, because the V2 version of him was my childhood favorite.  All this figure needed was his wolf companion Timber that was included with his 3 3/4 inch ‘80s counterpart.

I could go on about the awesomeness and high poseablilty of this version of the world’s best silent Ninja Commando, but I’d rather just show you through the over 30 photos I took below.

What do you think of the G.I. Joe Classified Snake Eyes action figure? Are you looking forward to this new line based on our favorite childhood toy soldiers?  Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

McFarlane Toys - DC Multiverse: Batman Action Figure!

Nearmint Batman001.jpg

McFarlane Toys new line of DC Multiverse action figures are on toy shelves now and I got my hands on the Detective Comics #1000 Batman. I was skeptical of this figure at first, because the promotional photos of it looked like it was a Toy Story version of a Batman toy. (At least to me.) Once I got the newest Dark Knight out of his giant wasted space packaging I was extremely surprised by the figure.

The detail seemed basic for a figure that's supposed to be based on Jim Lee's art for the cover of Detective Comics #1000, but the 22 points of articulation more than makes up for it. I actually do like the design and detail to the figure now that I've had it for a week. Batman is very sleek and does have some nice detail that can only be appreciated once the toy is in hand.

Batman comes with a Grapnel Gun and Batarang accessories. The Gun has a non-removable cable with a bat-shaped grapnel. There's also a display stand and a trading card with the image of Detective Comics #1000. I haven't always been a fan of molded rubber capes on action figures, but this version is by far the best I've seen. It has a molded flow to it that makes it great for action poses.

Overall I really like this figure and have found it hard to put down. I love seeing what poses I can get him in while just sitting at my desk. I look forward to picking up other figures in this first wave of DC Multiverse toys by McFarlane Toys and seeing what's coming in the future. Check out some photos of this Batman figure below.

Star Wars The Black Series 6" Luke Skywalker (Death Star Escape)

Luke Stormtrooper Web001.jpg

I recently picked up the new Target Exclusive Star Wars Black Series Luke Skywalker Death Star Escape (AKA Stormtrooper Disguise). This is an updated version of the Black Series Wave 2 Luke Skywalker Stormtrooper Disguise figure from 2014-2015. This new version has a great new head sculpt (with slicked back hair) and weathering on the armor from being in the Death Star trash compactor.

Accessories: Removable Helmet, Blaster, Commlink, Figure Stand

Check out the figure photos below, which were taken using our new photography LED light box! Let us know what you think of the new Luke Skywalker action figure in the comments below!

McFarlane Toys Game of Thrones | Jon Snow Action Figure

GoT Jon Snow Website001.jpg

In anticipation of the series finale of Game of Thrones I picked up the Jon Snow action figure from McFarlane Toys at my local Target. This is the first McFarlane Toy I’ve owned since the original Spawn Action figure back in 1994. Toys have come a long way since then.

The attention to detail and articulation are incredible on this figure. Jon Snow comes with a GoT Display Stand, a Dragon Glass dagger, and his legendary sword: Longclaw!

Check out the images below and let us know what you think of the 6 inch scale version of the former member of the Night’s Watch and King in the North in the comments below.

NECA Predator Series 18 | Broken Tusk Action Figure

tusk web complete001.jpg

Back in October I became a part of the NECA Target Ambassador Program. As part of the program I make sure the NECA Toy Display at my local Target is presentable, snap a photo, and submit it to NECA Toys for a chance to win Target gift cards. I won a $20 gift card in the first week of the program and used it towards the purchase of the NECA Toys Broken Tusk Predator action figure.

AVP Dark Horse.jpg

Yeyinde, aka Broken Tusk, first appeared in 'Aliens vs Predator' no. 1 by Dark Horse Comics in June, 1990. He is an honorable warrior who is best known for being the first Yautja to face a Xenomorph in unarmed combat and survive.

Now, 28 years later, this awesome character gets his own action figure thanks to Neca Toys! Broken Tusk is part of Neca's Series 18 Predator Action Figure Line. He stands about 8" tall and has over 20 points of articulation. There is a lot of fantastic detail on this figure including his bio-mask and severed Xenomorph head he wears on his chest. Broken Tusk comes with the following accessories: Plasma Gun (aka Burner), Separable Combistick, and the Predator signature Retractable Wrist-blades!

Broken Tusk has become one of my favorite of NECA’s Predator figures. He feels a lot sturdier than my Ultimate Jungle Hunter figure due to his heavily armored body. Thankfully the armor doesn’t hinder his articulation and he can be put into some pretty cool poses especially if you have an action figure stand.

Below are some pictures I took of this new amazing intergalactic hunting addition to my Predator toy shelf!

If you’re a Predator fan and action figure collector be sure to pick Broken Tusk up where Neca toys are sold! Let us know what you think of the figure and our photos! We’ll be posting more toy pics soon!

Star Wars The Black Series 6" Lando Calrissian | Solo: A Star Wars Story

Lando Near Mint Toy002.jpg
With Solo: A Star Wars story less than a month away I thought we’d take a quick look at an action figure of one of the most anticipated characters of the movie. That’s right I’m talking about everyone’s favorite smooth talkin’, double crossin’ former smuggler, Lando Calrissian.
This figure of the young Lando was the only thing I wanted to find on Force Friday 2018. Thankfully after three stores I managed to scare one at my local Target. I am extremely impressed with this figure in terms of sculpt, articulation, accessories, and likeness to actor Donald Glover. The latter is thanks to Hasbro’s Photo Real paint-application process being used on Black Series Figures starting from The Last Jedi, but has been used on Marvel Legends figures for a while longer.
This version of Lando is by far my favorite of the 6” Black Series line to date.  Check out the photos below to see why I’m so impressed with this action figure.
What are your thoughts of this new young version of Lando? What new Star Wars items did you pick up on Force Friday this year? Let us know in the comments below!
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25, 2018

Cyber City Con Exclusive Animus Figure (Potion Series - Courage Potion)

Animus Webpage002.jpg

I attended Cyber City Con, last month, in San Antonio Tx.  For those of you who weren’t able to attend the February 17-18 convention be sure to check out our YouTube video of the event.

The main reason I wanted to go to this show was to pick up the convention exclusive Defender Animus: Deciptachop Bustin’ Edition figure by Voodoo Robots!  Of course we all know him as Ironhide the Autobot military strategist and Optimus Prime’s gruff right hand bot! This Con Exclusive was limited to 150 figures. The Animus I purchased is number 11.

Animus stands 8.5 inches tall in robot mode, came with two blaster pistols, and a trading card. He fits nicely on my toy shelf with my Transformers Masterpiece figures.

A big highlight of this exclusive Transformer is the box art done by local San Antonio artist Juan Carlos Ramos.  He produced the amazing Animus art for the main box and the slip cover.  Be sure to follow Juan, on Facebook & Instagram, to check out his awesome work.
