Forged in the '80s!

Angie Griffin takes our new logo and makes it better!

Late last year we revealed our new logo on Twitter. We were very excited to find that our friend and Cosplay Queen the gorgeous Angie Griffin liked the design so much that she offered to take some pics in a logo tee for us. We weren’t even finished reading her DM before we were frantically placing an order for a t-shirt to send her!

As you can see, from the photos we’re sharing, they were worth the wait! The results were beyond our expectations as Angie put the same time and effort into these photos as she does into her own cosplay shoots. Even down to the cute thigh-high socks, to match our shirt, specifically for these photos! For that we are eternally grateful to our #1 Fangirl!

We have additional sexy photos from this once in a lifetime set that we’ll be posting in the future so be sure to follow us and Angie on social media so you don’t miss out!

Black Widow trailer and screenshots!

Black Widow thumbnail.jpg

Marvel released final action packed trailer for Black Widow yesterday and it looks like this movie will have been worth the years of waiting for Natasha Romanoff’s solo adventure!  The film takes place after the event’s of Captain America: Civil War and finds Black Widow going up against Taskmaster, who now controls The Red Room.

We’re sure you’re one of the 9.5 million who have viewed this trailer on YouTube, but go again and give is another look below along with some of our favorite screenshots.

Black Widow releases on May 1, 2020 stars Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, William Hurt, and directed by Cate Shortland!

Robert Pattinson camera test in Batman suit!

Pattinson Batman001.jpg

The Batman director, Matt Reeves, posted a camera test of Robert Pattinson in the Batman suit earlier today. It has been confirmed, via twitter, that the music playing over the clip is from The Batman composer Michael Giacchino. Check out the 56 second clip below along with some screenshots!

To me the Batsuit has an Arkham Knight game feel to it with a bit of a Netflix Daredevil vibe in the cowl department. I’m sure lots of people, on the internet, have made that comparison even as I’m typing this. There’s a rumor that the costume will be Batman’s classic blue and gray so the red filter in this clip may be there to throw us off and just give us a quick glimpse of the outfit. What do you think of the costume? The Batman will be hitting theaters on June 25, 2021!

Ghostbusters: Afterlife trailer and screenshots!

Ghostbusters Afterlife Web002.jpg

The Ghostbusters: Afterlife teaser trailer was released yesterday and it was full of spooky, nostalgic goodness! Taking up the directing mantel, of the first two flicks, from Ivan Reitman is his son, writer/director, Jason Reitman who also shares a writing credit with Gil Kenan.

Not much is known about the film at this point, but the trailer shows what appears to be Egon Spengler’s family moving to a farm he owned, before his death, and his grandchildren discovering his life as a Ghostbuster. Paranormal activity starts to surge through their small town motivating the kids to jump into their grandfathers familiar gear and ride!

The film stars Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace, and features original cast members Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murry, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts. How significant a role the original cast plays in this 3rd film remains to be seen. Maybe the second trailer will reveal more plog details. Until then check out the teaser trailer below and let that familiar sound of the Ecto-1 siren take you back to 1984!

Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be haunting a theater near you on July 10, 2020.

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot Roadshow | Dallas Texas Nov. 2, 2019

Jay and Silent Bob 013.jpg

The Jay and Silent Bob Reboot Roadshow rolled into Dallas this weekend and, as the late great Wesley Willis would say, 'it whupped a tiger's ass'! The event took place at the historic Texas Theatre, location of Lee Harvey Oswald's arrest on November 22, 1963. The sold out Reboot Roadshow included a post movie Q&A with Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, with special appearance by co-star Harley Quinn Smith. VIP fans also had professional photo-ops and meet and greets included with their tickets.

Movie Synopsis: America's favorite stoners, Jay and Silent Bob, are on another cross country trek to Hollywood to stop a reboot of "Bluntman and Chronic". Along the way Jay meets his daughter, played by Kevin's daughter Harley Quinn Smith, who forces the duo to take her and her friends to CronicCon for a chance to be in the new film our heroes want to put an end to. Hilarity ensues with cameos, along the way, from View Askew alums and new faces to this universe which include Jason Lee, Shannon Elizabeth, Rosario Dawson, Chris Hemsworth, Justin Long, Diedrich Bader, Molly Shanon, Melissa Benoist, Matt Damon, and what seems like thousands more. My personal favorite was the return of Ben Affleck as Holden McNeil in a funny and touching scene.

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot004.jpg

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is an inside joke laden, Easter egg filled, cameo extravaganza with a lot of heart. During Kevin Smith's intro to the film he said there was a moment where Jason Mewes will bring a tear to our eyes. I have to disagree, because I counted 4 times where my eyes watered up due to Jason's heart tugging performance. The movie reflects a rejuvenated post heart attack Kevin Smith and I for one am excited to see what's to come from him going forward. (Which looks like Clerks 3 and Mallrats 2)

The Q&A was filled with the usual fan-bro questions that Smith has answered many times before. However, hearing him retell his responses and trial off into other hilarious stories, in his signature way, live on stage was awesome and worth the price of admission. Jason Mewes was also hilarious on stage with his answers and told a heartwarming and hilarious story of directing his daughter in the Ben Affleck scene. Harley Quinn Smith, who was in the town filming a pilot, joined the duo on stage sporting a Reboot Roadshow tour shirt. The Q&A went over the allotted time due to the length of the answers. Once the audience left the theater, through the ally, we were greeted by patiently waiting fans in line for the second showing that wrapped around the block at 10:30pm on a cold Saturday night.

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot002.jpg

Besides the movie and Q&A my favorite part of the night was getting a hug from Kevin during my photo op and having him call me an OG for sporting my faded Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back t-shirt from 2001!

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is definitely a movie for hardcore View Askew/Smodco lovers and the Texas Theatre was overflowing with them that night. If you're a Kevin Smith fan and the Reboot Roadshow, or just the movie itself, is playing near you I highly recommend checking it out.

C4 CON001.jpg

The Corpus Christi Comic Con has come and gone. The 3rd Annual event was at the American Bank Center, on June 29th and 30th, in Corpus Christi, TX. The convention has grown quite a bit since we last attended during its 1st year in 2017. (Especially by changing locations to an air conditioned venue.) A lot of highlights, for us, were the ‘66 Batmobile, the Ultra Sabers Booth, and cosplayer Christela Paez in her AMAZING Gwenom cosplay! Below are some photos taken during our visit on Saturday, June 29. If you attended let us know what your favorite parts from that weekend were in the comments below!

The Cybertronic Spree | Live at The Greater Austin Comic Con | Friday, June 14, 2019

Cybertronic Spree Web.jpg

The Cybertonic Spree rolled into the Greater Austin Comic Con last weekend and, as Wesley Willis would say, "The rock 'n' roll was perfect, The show was whupping a horse's ass"!

For those unfamiliar with The Cybertronic Spree they are “rock stars in disguise” from Cybertron (by way of Cananda). The band has been rockin' songs from the 1986 The Transformers: The Movie soundtrack, along with our favorite cartoon theme songs, since 2013. They are also doing their own original music which will be included in their upcoming album that was funded on Kickstarter earlier this month. The album should be available this August for all who pledged.

The Greater Austin Comic Con brought the band to Texas, last weekend, to rock the Lone Star State for two amazing nights! My friend Daniel and I were fortunate enough to see the Cybertronic Spree perform on the Friday Preview Night show. The event included a copy of Issue 6 of the Transformers comic, by IDW, featuring an exclusive Cybertronic Spree cover and a Meet & Greet with the band afterwards.

Below are photos from the concert and some of the merchandise we picked up as well. Stay tuned, to our YouTube channel, for some videos of their amazing performance as well.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Toys In Stores | Mattel, Lego, Matchbox

Jurassic World Toys Near Mint001.jpg

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is two months away, but the Dino-toys are hitting shelves now! I came across a load of various Jurassic World toys, at Walmart yesterday, that surpassed the Star Wars offerings from last week’s Force Friday.  The ones I spotted were from Mattel, Lego, and Matchbox.

I am really impressed at the amount of details and features this franchise's toys have evolved into since the first toys were introduced in 1993. Below are photos from all the prehistoric merchandise I found.

Force Friday 2018 | Solo: A Star Wars Story Toys

Near Mint Solo003.jpg
The upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story is a little over a month away, but this year’s Force Friday came and went with little fanfare. I still went on the hunt for new Star Wars products once I actually realized it was happening.  While scouring my local Walmart and Target stores I came across some of the 6” Black Series figures, 3.75” Force Link figures, Hot Wheels, and Nerf guns. Below are some photos of the various toys I found.
Near Mint Lando 001.jpg
Out of all the items I found, on my outing, I only picked up the Black Series Lando Calrissian (because who doesn’t wan an awesome Donald Glover action figure) and the Millennium Falcon Hot Wheels toy. My only regret was not getting the Black Series Range Trooper, because he looks like an Imperial Pimp. What did you think of the Force Friday offerings this year?  Let us know what you bought in the comments below.
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25, 2018.

Fan Expo Dallas Photos | April 2018

Fan Expo Dallas NMFB001.jpg

Fan Expo Dallas was this past weekend from April 6-8. It was an uncommonly cold Spring weekend, in the DFW area, but it did not stop hordes of geeks from storming the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center! This year's Expo seemed like the biggest yet with more celebrities, cosplayers, vendors, and events.  Below are some photos I took while walking the floor.

Ben Affleck was a last minute addition to the convention and appeared on Saturday only. I was excited to be able to get a photo op with him! I also purchased the Fan Expo exclusive Justice League Batman Statue, by Icon Heroes, that I will do a full post about later this week.

Another highlight of this year's Fan Expo was meeting Cosplay Icon Jessica Nigri. She was extremely friendly and personable.  It's well worth the long lines to meet her and I recommend doing so if she's at a convention near you!

If you attended Fan Expo Dallas this year let us know what your favorite moments were in the comments below!
